Scarecrow Hinterland Festival 2011

The 2011 Scarecrow Festival Trail has now finished. I know, it's sad, but hey it will all return in 2012 with more budding artists at work creating more amazing scarecrows! So see you then.

The Scarecrow Charity Auction-Scarecrow to the Rescue!

All proceeds from the auction sales will be donated to Frankston Peninsula Carers Inc. to raise funds for respite housing for peninsula families in need. For your chance to view the 2011 Scarecrows in one location, do a bit of market Christmas shopping and perhaps even pick up a colourful scarecrow for your own backyard, come along to the Festival Auction and wrap-up event at the Red Hill Market.

Where: Redhill Sports Pavillon, Red Hill Market.

When: From 12pm-12.30pm, Saturday November 5th.

Entry: Parking fees apply, Market entry is Free.

Scarecrow specials

Why not follow the trail of artful scarecrows and taste, sample, and savor along the way. Look for the Scarecrow Specials logo throughout the program and along the Scarecrow Touring Trail to find out how you can take full advantage of many special offers available throughout the month of October.

poetry slam

The idea of the Scarecrow, has always captured the imagination of both the literary and creative arts community (Think Wizard of Oz and Robinson Crusoe). For this reason, we have introduced a new Scarecrow Poetry element to the program with a fun POETRY SLAM scheduled for our Red Hill Market Launch. Video performances will be posted on our Scarecrow Fest facebook page. Email your video to be part of the fun.

'draw the straw'

Do you have a budding artist in the family? Download the official A4 poster and you can draw, paint and create your idea of "The Scarecrow at my place" or complete the colour in poster attached to the pdf.

FOLLOW THE SCARECROW TRAIL

With such a packed program of Scarecrows to see, a whole day of touring is advised. A visit to Scarecrow Festival Trail can also be combined with a visit to the market, cellar door or farm-gate for a complete taste of this inspirational community.
